The 2012 race calendar, we believe, is again amongst the best in Club Racing. Our association with MSVR allows us access to some tracks and race formats which would not otherwise be available.
Every year we ask for feedback from our competitors on which circuits and formats have worked well and whether there are other venues they would like to visit. Our calendar, comprising of 12 races, is very much based on this feedback and offers ‘Double Header’ (2 races per weekend) races at some of the best UK venues.
This year we have events at the following circuits :
* 28th / 29th April - Donington Park. Always a popular location, the sweeping Leicestershire track was re-opened with a slightly revised layout in 2010. A great location for the season opener !.
* 12th / 13th May – Silverstone National. This will be the first race on the new layout. The track is synonymous with the British Grand Prix and has a great ambience. The twisty complex really tests drivers and chassis set up too !.
* 21st July – Oulton Park International. This Cheshire circuit is always towards the top of our table based on drivers feedback, though it isn’t easy to obtain track time there. Through our association with MSVR, we have managed to stage a double header on the International layout – a real coup we feel !.
* 1st / 2nd September – Cadwell Park . A personal favourite, this Lincolnshire track is twisty but very narrow in parts. Overtaking is difficult but can be achieved – a real challenge for the drivers !.
* 15th / 16th September – Brands Hatch Grand Prix. An MSVR listed Championship only venue – we have opted for an endurance race here. Again there is limited access to this circuit layout at the Kent track, which has a very different character to the Indy circuit. This gives the opportunity to experience the same high speed bends as the DTM and World Superbikes !.
* 27th / 28th October – Snetterton 300 (Double Header). This Norfolk circuit underwent extensive revisions last year and the new, longer, ‘300’ layout will stage 2 races for the season finale. Much more technical than the original layout, it proved very popular on our first outing in 2011.
We will share the paddock with, variously, GT Cup, Mini Championship, Radicals and Lotus On Track Elise Trophy.
